California’s Largest Law Enforcement Group Endorses Alberto Torrico for Attorney General
The 62,000-member strong Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC) voted Saturday to endorse Assembly Majority Leader Alberto Torrico for Attorney General.
Torrico, whose brother is a veteran San Jose police officer, expressed his gratitude for the key endorsement. “I can think of no more important backing than the support of front-line law enforcement personnel,†Torrico said.
“Alberto Torrico has made protecting the public his top priority. He is the best choice for California’s top law enforcement official,†said PORAC President Ron Cottingham.
Torrico, who reported the strongest cash-on-hand position among AG candidates in July, has already received support from numerous local police groups throughout California, including: San Jose Police Officers Association, Deputy Sheriffs’ Association of Alameda County, San Bernardino County Safety Employees Benefit Association, Sacramento Police Officers Association and the Stockton Police Officers Association.
Torrico is the second ranking Democrat in the State Assembly, representing parts of both Alameda and Santa Clara counties.
