Today is the Day
For the past eighteen months, I have traveled all over California – from San Diego County to Del Norte County – with the simple, yet powerful message: education is key to our future and safety.
Eighteen months ago, I launched my campaign for Attorney General because for the first time in our state’s history, the government spent more money on prisons than higher education.
I began this campaign for Attorney General because we have a failing prison system – where 70 percent of released inmates return after three years.
Since beginning this campaign, I have garnered the largest coalition of public safety – from police chiefs, firefighters, police officers and fire chiefs – because they agree: education is the best strategy to prevent crime and rehabilitate criminals.
And, I am so proud to have garnered the largest coalition of educational leaders – from organizing nearly 100,000 individuals for Fair Share for Fair Tuition to groups like the California Federation of Teachers and California Faculty Association – because they agree: a stronger California starts with great schools, not failed prisons.
Do you agree with police, teachers and firefighters?
If you agree with California teachers, firefighters, fire chiefs, police officers, police chiefs and thousands of other fellow Democrats that education is the best way to create a safer and more secure California, then I ask you to go to your local polling place today and cast your vote for Alberto Torrico for Attorney General.
I would be honored to receive your vote and serve as your Attorney General.
Sincerely,
Alberto Torrico
