10 minutes, 10 friends

June 1, 2010

Dear Friend,

We are less than a week away from Election Day and less than 100,000 votes from making education the key to California’s future and public safety.

Investing in strong schools, not failed prisons, is the best strategy to keep California safe and the reason why my campaign for Attorney General has garnered the strongest coalition of education, public safety and labor groups.

The Attorney General race, unfortunately, has turned into a mudslinging spectacle between Chris Kelly and Kamala Harris. We need an Attorney General who will attack our state’s biggest problems, not just fellow Democrats.

You’ve been instrumental in helping me attack California’s problems by collecting nearly 100,000 signatures for a Fair Share for Fair Tuition. And now, to make education the key to California’s future and public safety, I need your help once more.

Our race remains very tight. Polls show that a plurality of voters will walk into the voting booth on Tuesday undecided on the AG’s race. This means that the campaign that can do the best job communicating their message to those voters from now till Tuesday will win.

10 minutes, 10 friends, 10 Dollars

You can help us make education the key to public safety by taking 10 minutes to:

1.    Ask your friends to join our campaign. You can use new tools on Facebook, or do it the old fashioned way – talk to friends at work, in the neighborhood or on the phone.

2.    Share this page with 10 friends – or more. Share

Californians want solutions. But we need to get the message out. By sharing this page, you help build support for the growing grassroots army that agrees the key to a safer California is building great schools, not failed prisons.

3.    Donate $10 to our campaign. We are less than $25,000 from purchasing time on news stations like CNN that will help us air our new campaign spot.

Make no mistake about it. Taking 10 minutes to donate $10 and to share this page to 10 friends on Facebook will make the difference in this election.

Together, we will reform our failing prison and make education the key to public safety.

Sincerely,
Alberto Torrico

P.S. Don’t forget to take 10 minutes to ask 10 friends to join us and
to donate $10.
